Gasoline Lollipops

Wonderbound's Garrett Ammon began developing The Sandman with Gasoline Lollipops frontman Clay Rose after their first successful collaboration, Wicked Bayou, with The Widow’s Bane. Gasoline Lollipops’ second album, Soul Mine, contains four numbers (the title track, “Woman and a Gun,” “Ghost of a Man” and “Leaving Alone”) from The Sandman as well as “Burns” from Wicked Bayou.
The Flight I Flew

Featured in Wonderbound's Celestial Navigation by Garrett Ammon and released in conjunction with the show, Ian Cooke's The Flight I Flew was recorded and mastered while working with Ammon to bring the music to life as a sci-fi adventure for the stage.

Flobots
Released: 2017
Flobots began working with Wonderbound's Garrett Ammon to develop an evening-length collaboration while NOENEMIES was being written. As it evolved, they all agreed the new album would be the perfect soundscape for what would become Wonderbound's DIVISIONS. The album was released in conjunction with the show.
Dust
Jesse Manley
Released: 2017
Jesse Manley was brought on board early in the development process when Wonderbound and Curious Theatre Company chose the Dust Bowl as the subject of a collaborative project to merge dance and theatre. Manley wrote all original music for the production, titled Dust, by drawing on American folk traditions from the era. Manley released the studio album the following year.
Resurrection
Gasoline Lollipops

“Santa Maria (and the Sand Man)” is the inspiration for Wonderbound and Gasoline Lollipops’ 2020 smash hit, The Sandman. This song and three others (the title track, “Drink My Fill,” and “I’ll Be There for You”) from Resurrection are in the show as well. In addition, the album includes “Vanilla Baby” from Wonderbound’s 2018 collaboration with The Widow’s Bane, Wicked Bayou.

Hal Aqua and The Lost Tribe's Lucky features music selections from Aqua and Garrett Ammon's 2013 collaboration, Memories and Well-Grounded Hopes (see Lost and Found for more music from this work), as well as selections from their 2015 collaboration, Hidden Constellation.

Ian Cooke was writing the music for Antiquasauria while working with Garrett Ammon and poet Michael J. Henry to develop Wonderbound's Gone West. Numerous songs from the album found a home in the production as well as music from Cooke's previous albums, Fortitude and The Fall I Fell.

When Garrett Ammon decided to create a new seasonal production that was in line with Wonderbound's artistic vision, he immediately approached Jesse Manley for the project. Winter premiered in December 2014 as a five-sensory, immersive experience. Manley recorded the studio album and released it the following year.

Gasoline Lollipops’ 2014 EP includes three tracks from the 2020 production The Sandman, the second collaboration between songwriter/frontman Clay Rose and Wonderbound’s Garrett Ammon. The title track, “Devil’s in the Ace” and “Failed Bed Frame” all appear in the show. In addition, Ammon made a lyric video to “Fast Train” after the show finished its run.
A Gothic Folktale

The production of A Gothic Folktale was developed collaboratively among Garrett Ammon, Jesse Manley, and illusionist and mentalist Professor Phelyx. The show premiered in 2013, and Manley released the album six months later.
Don’t Be Afraid; It’s Only Death
The Widow’s Bane

Don’t Be Afraid; It’s Only Death includes music from Wonderbound’s full-length production of Wicked Bayou in collaboration with The Widow’s Bane, a zombie-death-polka band led by the undead frontman Gov. Mortimer Leech. The production was largely inspired by the song Old Bayou.
Carry On RMXD: Paper Bird Reimagined

After Paper Bird released the live album of Carry On, their full-length collaboration with Garrett Ammon, they handed the raw tracks over to a collection of Denver musicians to remix as they saw fit.
The Circle In The Square

Flobots' The Circle In The Square incorporates samples from Carry On, the live album by Paper Bird from the full-length collaboration with Garrett Ammon. The tracks 'Flokovsky,' 'The Circle In The Square,' and 'Run' were choreographed by Ammon into a spontaneous dance performance that occurred at events and locations across Denver.

Paper Bird

Carry On helped set the stage for what Wonderbound would become. It was the first full-length collaborative production between Garrett Ammon and a local Denver band. Paper Bird wrote all original music for the show, and the live album was released later that same year.
Devil's Red
Jesse Manley
Released: 2011
Jesse Manley gave an advance copy of his first album, Devil's Red, to Garrett Ammon. After listening to it, Ammon reached out to Manley about making a ballet with him performing live. The resulting ballet, Vagabond Hill, premiered weeks before the official album release and set the stage for numerous collaborations between the two.
The Fall I Fell

Music selections from Ian Cooke's first album, The Fall I Fell, were incorporated into Gone West, a full-length collaboration with Garrett Ammon and poet Michael J. Henry. Gone West also included music from Cooke's two subsequent albums, Fortitude and Antiquasauria.

Almost every track from Clay Rose’s 2005 debut solo EP, Smoke and Steam, found its way into the 2020 production The Sandman with Gasoline Lollipops, his second collaboration with Wonderbound’s Garrett Ammon. The durability of these songs across time demonstrate the remarkable depth resident in Rose’s songwriting.
