Who doesn’t want to be a dancer? Yes, Katina had dreams of being a backup dancer, but alas, it was not meant to be. Instead, this Indianapolis born, Brooklyn and Denver hybrid, traveled the country by VW bus, living in nearly every region of the country before landing in Denver seven years ago.
Traversing academia in much the same way, Katina realized she was a creative after exploring many disciplines and ultimately connecting with architecture. Through her studies, she discovered the intrinsic relationship between architecture and dance – how we move through and inhabit space is at the core of both.
“Dance with architecture. It’s the dance.” These were words of sage advice from one of Katina’s studio professors at Columbia University. Together with rigor, she discovered a freedom within the discipline, as she learned to dance and play with design. Architecture evolved into graphic design, and then again into marketing and communications.
Everyone in Denver, and beyond, needs to know what a gem they have in Wonderbound – Katina will put her 10+ years of design and marketing expertise to work into making this happen.
