Chums

I’ve got some Venice Beach sand in my old guitar
And it rattles when I shake it to a fro’
I’ve got the dust of Shambhala in the soles of my shoes
They’re full of holes but I cannot let them go

And it’s an arduous road when no place is your home
When you’re destined to meander the world
But I’ve got chums with the most ranging coast to coast
They are my castle though I’ve no place of my own

I’ve got my feet in the lake and the sun on my face
A glass of wine in my hand and all is fine
I’ve got a roof over head and a nice cushy bed
You can’t complain when the vista is divine

And it’s an arduous road when no place is your home
When you’re destined to meander the world
But I’ve got chums with the most ranging coast to coast
They are my castle though I’ve no place of my own

Well, Mr. Philer in Spokane and the gages in the land
Of the pointed sand just north of here
We’ve got the springers by the lake
And the…
And the birds all singing music, district cheer

And I’ve got sweet friends to the bitter end
They always keep me smiling ear to ear
But though the world keeps revolving, our hearts are entwined
And our love will keep on growing year to year

And it’s an arduous road when no place is your home
When you’re destined to meander the world
But I’ve got chums with the most ranging coast to coast
They are my castle though I’ve no place of my own

And Then Some

Someone who comprehends
Someone who knows my heart
Someone who knows how my sentence will end
Before I even start.

Someone to make my day useful
Someone to make me complete
Someone who makes all others seem dull
You are that someone to me.

You make my load a little lighter
My stars a little brighter
My tomorrow that much better to face
You send fire through my spirit, whenever you are near it
My dreams are that much better to chase, love.

My love for you never fades
In fact, it grows more everyday
It gets deeper and wider with every line
That appears on your wonderful face

You make my load a little lighter
My stars a little brighter
My tomorrow that much better to face
You send fire through my spirit, whenever you are near it
My dreams are that much better to chase, love.

Baby, take me in your arms
Tell me the future is ours
Say that, you’ll feel the same tomorrow as today
And you will keep me warm and safe in your heart.

And when the world is over
We will still share a love in the stars
‘til death do us part
and then some

‘til death do us part
and then some

About And Then Some

Connection is defined as a unification or a fastening together; an exchange of energy or a bond established in order to communicate.

Dance is one of the earliest and most powerful forms of this transmission. It’s simply a conversation between people without having to say words. When the house lights go down in a theatre, a palpable energy exchange occurs amongst audience and artist alike. This precious moment signals an inner aliveness that seems to indicate the conversation has commenced, and we suddenly fall into community with other individuals taking part.

It is an awesome affair to witness live performance alongside hundreds or thousands of souls absorbing the same dramaturgy - all of who will walk away with as many different perspectives. Art instinctively couriers a connection point that welcomes inquisition, elicits emotional reaction, and creates latitude for conversation. While the challenges of connection are currently heightened, we will never be in a time where shared expression ceases to be essential.

Through our rigorous nature, Wonderbound continues to bring hope and beauty to our beloved community through film.

With music, lyrics, and performance by Rae McAlister, And Then Some reflects the delight of finding union in unlikely places.
